Walkerville Baptist Church – 1916-2019

Fire in progress – October 27, 2019 – Photo c. Will F.

Built in 1916, the Walkerville Baptist Church, located at Windermere and Cataraqui in Old Walkerville caught fire during a post service pot luck Sunday. The fire raged for several hours, and is unfortunately a loss. All parishioners were able to get out safely and no one was hurt.

The building originally built in 1916, had several expansions and remodelings over the years with the last one coming in the 1950’s. Back in the early 2000’s the houses behind the church on Lincoln were demolished. Once the church is gone from the site there will be a large chunk of vacant land available in the heart of Old Walkerville.
