Here’s another old Essex County restaurant ad, this one from Kingsville this time, and from Peter’s Bar-B-Q Inn, which was proclaimed as “Kingsville’s Favourite Eating Place”.
The last post on Diana’s in Leamington brought out lots of stories, hopefully this one will too.
Have a great weekend everyone, see you back here Monday!
It’s always a good sign when the “townsfolks” approve as well.
It’s been a long time, and my memory has faded, but this place eventually become Martha’s Dutch Kitchen? Anyone out there remember?
Peter’s was on the north side of Main Street. It eventually became Guido’s and is now Vernon’s. I relocated to this area in ’72 so I don’t know if it went by another name between being named Peter’s and Guido’s. I will ask around.
I have always known the Dutch Kitchen as being on the south side of Main Street. It recently moved to Division and Road 3.
The “Kingsville Reporter” carried an ad in the March 19, 1953 edition announcing a grand re-opening of this restaurant. It was described as having been “thoroughly renovated and redecorated”. According to this announcement, it was formerly known as Kubis Restaurant.
