Today’s photo taken by Al Gradwell comes to us once again via Tim Swaddling. Tim is helping to digitize a large number of older rail slides, and where possible and with the photographer’s permission, he’s sharing ones that he thinks may be of interested to the readers of this site.

A neat shot of the eastbound Via rail train passing the long gone, Stoney Point station. There is no confirmed date on this one, but I would take a guess of about 1984. Maybe someone out there remembers the old Stoney Point station. When did it come down?
i don’t recall the station but its great to see the vintage power on the head end and the older passenger cars,the power isn’t FP units i think their FA’s but i might be wrong thanks for the photo Tim

How about some old pics of stop 26 when the streetcar still went by there? and the old streetcar bridge over little river. Also curious about the circle house on florence just south of clairview. Any information behind these?
Somewhere in my clutter, I’ve got a b&w sharp snap of eastbound CN train number 10 (before VIA was created) about to leave the Windsor (not Walkerville!) station (foot of Goyeau)early one morning in 1958. I recall it is a General Motors Diesel Limited-built in its London, Ont. (recently closed) plant. It’s a model FP7 or FP9, number in the 6500’s. These were transfered (or sold) to VIA Rail when they took over CN and CP passenger trains, in about 1977; Al Gradwell’s photos represent locomotives built by Montreal Locomotive Works, GMD’s competition.
Some of CN’s trains stopped at Tecumseh, Belle River and Stoney Point (but not Puce, sorry!).
