Today is election day. 9:30 am to 9:30 pm.
No excuses, get out and vote.
It’s your duty, and it’s your freedom, that so many of our ancestors died protecting.
The least you can do is take those 5 minutes out of your day to cast your vote.
I don’t care who you vote for, as long as you vote.
Voting is like renewing your license to complain about the government. You don’t vote, you’ve no right to bitch…….
Not only that but would you rather a small minority of people decide who is going to run your life for the next 4 years? For all of the complaining we do about taxes, healthcare…a person would think that voting is the most important way to get what you believe you deserve.
GET OUT AND VOTE ! ! !
From the wisdom of the late, great George Carlin:
“I don’t think we should be governing ourselves. What we need is a king, and every now and then if the king’s not doing a good job, we kill him.”
I like this. …I’ll be voting Green Party. And so should everyone.
Cheers! Ken
For what it’s worth, I wish everyone would take an interest in what the government does on all levels, local, county, provincial (or in my case, state) and federal. I say this as a city councilman in my little Central Washington (state) town. We have a population of about a thousand, of which about 150 avail themselves of the right to elect their officials. So when someone comes up to me and complains about something……usually water rates or the condition of their street…..the first question I ALWAYS ask is “Did you vote in the last City election?” If the answer’s “No”, the next question is “Well then, why should I listen to you?”
You have the absolute ability to influence government every so often the most direct way possible. Through the ballot box……
Thanks for posting this. I always think of my dad, who fought in WWII and my grandfather who was gassed in the trenches WWI. As did other forefathers they did this for all of us, especially me and my children.
well it looks like the conservatives are going to win. lame.
communist party didn’t make it again, eh? lol well, maybe next time 😉
Aaron, that’s because the Marxist-Lenninist party split the vote.
haha I voted NDP I’m a little more realistic.
