From the Border Cities Star – November 4, 1931.
The Sandwich Hydro-Electric Commission will start construction on its $25,000 new building, opposite the Town Hall, in the near future, if architect’s plans are approved by the Ontario Hydro-Electric. Mayor Donnelly went to Toronto today to lay the specifications before the provincial commission and to speed a decision on the project. The town library and the water board will occupy the second story of the structure while the Hydro offices will be located on the ground floor. Constriction will be of brick, with a handsome stone facade. Sheppard and Masson, of Windsor, are the architects.
It’s a nice looking art deco design, a style that didn’t appear too often in Windsor. It would have been quite a nice little building.
