The other week this picture above was posted as 527-533 Chatham Street East bit the dust. The building immediately west at 515-523 was still standing, but boarded up.
This is how it looked in the spring of 2009.
Earlier this week, I cruised past and noticed it too was long gone…
That building was an eyesore at the end of the day… sad fate, but people need to take care of their homes.
I agree Shawn M. I wonder with all of teh money spend on events in Detroit if the city will actually have incentives for people who own homes in this city.
All that empty land will just sit for years now…
Another empty lot in or near the downtown core. It is becoming a real wasteland down there! To look at some of the pics of downtown Windsor in the 60s and 70s, and then to compare what is left there now. Amazing how a city lets itself down so badly, and how the citizenry doesn’t take to the streets to prevent it!
anyone want to bet how long the Grace site sits idle ??
A little off topic but I drove past the old Motor Lamp bldg. on Seminole st. a couple times and from the road it still looks the same but if you look inside it’s being totally gutted piece by piece from the inside out, must be a lot of salvage in the bldg. Looking south from Seminole thru windows nothing but daylight, & metal munchers, but the face still looks the same ……
Don’t fret guys! 😀
This empty lot will meet the fate as many empty lots do! 😀
Either it will be come a parking lot or a building with every bodys favorite…… STUCKO!!!!! 😀
Aren’t we all just EXCITED!!! 😀 -insert sarcasm- lol 😛
