Looks like one of Windsor’s gems, the old Wakerville/Tivoli Theatre is up for bids on eBay.
Starting at only $475,000 USD too… What a deal!
Bid early, and bid often. 🙂

Alright then, whose the wise guy?
Yeah, I was trying to figure out if it’s legit or not… I like how the seller has a feedback rating of 0. That’s the kind of guy I would enter a half million dollar transaction with…
Maybe Buzz Hargrove can use some of the money he’s collected in union dues from the people of Windsor and buy a couple of heritage properties. I bet he’s got lots of money hidden away in a mattress that could buy the old Tivoli and the Paul Martin house. Whattaya say Buzz?
Oh no way! I was wondering what was going on with that location when I walked by during ArtWalkerville. Restored and everything, it’d greatly improve the Walkerville BIA area
Great shots. I wondered what it looked like inside. I was expecting plush chairs on the main floor. Without the plush chairs, it still looks like a gay nightclub.
It’s better than my impression of it on Friday though. I walked by and there were like a hundred pigeons behind the entrance sign with about all the pigeon crap along the sidewalk you can imagine. Not a good first impression of a place if you’re trying to sell it.
But it has potential. Take the entrance sign down in front of the trim to get rid of all the pigeons and paint the blue trim black (the paint is peeling anyway). Replace the storefront glass entrane doors with dark stained oak ones from Habitat and find some good used plush chairs from Detroit for the main floor and the place will be a happening theatre again.
What I meant by the oak doors from what it originally looked like:: http://www.walkervilletimes.com/tivoli.htm
Too bad about the ceiling. It was some theatre back in its day.
reminds me of this post about a new gallery opening

I am the real estate agent currently trying to re-establish/sell this beautiful, historic piece of Walkerville history. My 2nd job is as Coordinator for the Walkerville BIA. Therefore my interest in this theatre is two-fold. There is opportunity abound for this theatre and plenty of organizations willing to lease out this property. The ceiling has experienced some water damage but we are in the process of repairing this, as well as providing other necessary services in order to get it up and running ex. heat, fire escapes etc.
I am happy to read comments about the Artwalk and would like to invite anyone intersted in viewing this charming theatre to contact me at 519-251-1611 (office/pager). It’s really quite beautiful inside.
