Just a couple of minor comments on this pic. First the dark blue building on the left of the pic is the Pattern Shop that Chris mentioned above, this was erected in the 80’s sometime(The Pattern Shop used to be located in the north west corner of Windsor Engine Plant)
The other thing of interest (that gives me a chuckle too) is the little light blue garage- like building on the left near the bottom of the pic. This building held stuff like 55 gal. drums of pure alcohol, 6 ft canisters of triethylamine gas, some of the most volatile compounds we had and the building was ironically called the Bomb shelter…the LAST place you’d wanna be during a bomb attack…unless…. you wanted a quick exit from this life..
Bob C…..
that whole blue part they were tearing down in the photo is now gone. i wonder what will be next.
Thanks Darren. I’ll post your update photo on Thursday.
Darren?> Could you do me a favour and take a couple of pictures of as much of the Foundry area as you can get from your photospot?
Many thanks in advance.. I would’ve emailed you offline but I don’t think there’s any provision for this?? I’m sure not everyone is as interested as I am….and it’d be great if someone could take pics from the west side of the building…..I nominate Chris H.
Bob C…
Bob, don’t worry, as long as I get photos, I’ll post them here for everyone too see.
I promise you I’ll cover the foundry demolition until the site is scraped bare.
