So on my way home from work yesterday, I noticed that the stacks were still coming down. Only this time they are being removed from the inside of the plant.
Also, does any know what’s going on with the Lafarge Building? I noticed the dumpster beside it the other day. Is it being prepped for demolition or rehab? This one is on the south side of Grand Maris just east of the Chrysler Plant.
This may be a stupid question. But, what where the smoke stacks for? Why are they no longer needed? And, where does the smoke go if it”s not coming out of the smoke stacks?
From what I understand they are for the old paint shop. They have built a new paint shop, plus advances in emissions control, etc… requires less exhausting.
That old building on Gran Maria road in front of LaFarge concrete dates back to the old Woolatts construction days this building was their admin building
Those smokestacks exhausted the paint oven furnaces and as stated, the new paint shop has replaced them. there are exhaust ducts in the new paint shop, but not nearly as prominent.
