A more recent then and now. The O.P. Hamlin building on McDougall was built in 1960 and designed by local architects Johnson & McWhinnie. The font on the letters is identical to that used on the 1957 Cleary Guest House. In 2008 the building went up for sale after O.P. Hamlin closed.
Community Living purchased the building and converted the showroom and warehouse into offices. Kudos to Community Living for staying in the core and for successfully reusing an existing building, and for converting it to their needs without destroying the architectural integrity of the structure.

Andrew…..did you take this yesterday? i know it’s a block or so away, but i was on a walk with my lady taking pictures and i seen a dude who kinda looked like you (from a distance)in the loading dock area of Aaron’s Storage with a big ol camera taking pics.

Don’t like it. Just another brown and black box. Dull, dull, dull. The color palette of the original design gave it some zest. Now, its flat and lifeless. I’ll take pink stucco any day.
Use to work at O P Hamlin so at least something good came of the building.
