uniquely designed bottles. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the John Atkinson Memorial Fund in
support of the Special Olympics.About Icewine
Canada is the largest producer of Icewine in the world with harsh winters that provide the ideal setting
for growing grapes needed for the sweet dessert wine. The grapes are picked when temperatures drop
below -8 °C (17 °F) and because the process must take place while the grapes are frozen, the Icewine
harvest often occurs in the middle of the night. Pelee Island Winery and Hillebrand are credited with
being Canada’s first commercial Icewine producers.Celebrate winter’s gift at the LCBO Roundhouse (3165 Howard Avenue, Windsor) “Icewine Event” on
Saturday, January 31 from noon to 4 p.m. Sample a number of Icewines, vote on the best dessert st
created by local chefs, vote on and buy raffle tickets for icewine bottles decorated by local artists.
Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the John Atkinson Memorial Fund in support of the Special
Olympics.###
