A regular reader recently asked me about this old local establishment, the Drake House at the corner of Glengarry & Chatham. It was one of Windsor’s oldest watering holes, with a hotel having been on the same site since at least 1895. The bar closed for good December 27, 1990, and demolition on the building started in February, 1991 (along with the rest of the block). The site today is occupied by Caesars Windsor.

Hey Andrew: Drake House from A Forgotten City- we arranged to have these great mid-century black and white images donated to SWODA through Mike Skreptiak who salvaged them before they were to be destroyed by Windsor Police Services
