Photo above from June 2002. The Park Building at the corner of Park & Ouellette, built in the mid 1920’s and designed by Sheppard & Masson, the building was horribly renovated and reclad.
Today, it looks a little like this ^^^
Hope everyone had a nice weekend and a belated Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.
The building is still there and still a going concern so that’s something. And hopefully what lies being the recladding will once again see the light of day.
‘what lies beneath the recladding’
What was knocked down at the 1500 block of Ouellette Saturday? I thought today’s post would be on it.
David, near what building/area/store did you see something knocked down?? We’re due to go there tomorrow and I’d like to see on the maps what was there…thanks
It was a small U shaped 1 floor bldg., it at one time had many Doctor/Dentist offices
It is as if the residents and businesses of Windsor are making a concerted effort to transform the downtown area into the ugliest and most ruinous city in North America. Unbelievable what has happened that the city! The vibrant and colourful downtown that I remember when I was growing up is long gone, replaced by horrors like this one!
