A nice old photo from the Mason & Rice archives. The station in Kingsville was designed by Mason & Rice and built in 1888 as part of the Lake Erie, Essex and Detroit River Railway which was built by Hiram Walker. Although the railway is now long gone, the station still stands today in Kingsville, and is home to the Mettawa Station Restaurant.
Have a great weekend everyone, see you back here Monday.

Made of local field stone?
It's a lovely building indeed.
Got a present pic?
If you do a Google streetview of Landsdowne Ave in Kingsville by the Chrysler Greenway you can see the station as it sits today.
Yes, the station was built using local fieldstone. A complete description can be found at this link: http://www.kingsvilleheritage.ca/Designated_Properties/Railway_Station.html
