St Mary’s Library – 1914

Sticking with St. Mary’s again today, while I’ve seen a number of pictures of the outside of the building, I think this might be the first time I’ve seen a shot of the inside. This view shows us the library, which still seems to be decorated in a Victorian Style on the eve of WWI. A neat look inside the long lost building.

  • Amazing. I was caught up in the books, the furniture and decor, and then went back and noticed the details on the wall around the art.

  • I think some of those gee-gaws and pictures ended up in the reception rooms of St. Mary's in South Windsor where I spent 13 years. Who knows where it all went when it was torn down in the 1970s. So sad.
