On Tecumseh Rd. the parish of St. Vladimir’s is celebrating its 80th anniversary.
The Parrish was founded in 1927, and the first Church on Seminole St. was built in the 1930’s. The Tecumseh Road land was purchased in 1955, and in 1963 the cornerstone was laid for the Cathedral.
The building blends mid century styling, and symmetry…
… oddly, with the traditional three domes and orthodox crosses. Despite searching, I was unable to come up with an architect for this one.
** Edit, I found it under my nose…. A.A. Lasko, Architect. Although I know nothing about him. I am unfamiliar with his name, so I’m going to guess that he was not a local architect.
