Photo Du Jour – October 21, 2005 – Back Alley Bar

As reported in this thread on the Detroit Yes! forum, the Back Alley Speakeasy on Griswold behind the Downtown Synagogue, is undergoing renovation with intent to reopen. It will add a destination in an otherwise quiet area north of Capitol Park. No official word on what the format will be, or a time table for its reopening, however the Forum usually has the inside track… Stay Tuned….

  • That's great news...I love that little intersection there. Specifically, I would love to know if the Downtown Synagogue is still being used regularly. You wouldn't happen to know, would you?
