there’s such a huge number of photos here passed onto me from my grandmother. i must try to sort them out soon. so many are from my family in England though. got to separate them from the ones from Canada. mostly, i need to try to find as many negatives as i can too, since i know they probably hold secrets i’ve never seen yet. i wish i could ask my grandmother who that woman is, but she has alzheimer’s and hardly remembers me anymore now. wish we talked more earlier on…
cool! thanks for sharing this darren! you never know what someone with alzheimer’s is going to remember darren, you should give it a shot. my girlfreind works in a nursing home and most of the people with alzheimer’s are practically stuck in the 30’s and 40’s.
love the photos, love this site
have tried to leave comments before, but for some reason they are never taken.
keep up the good work!!
Red, thanks.
As you can imagine blogs like this are slammed with spam comments on a regular basis. Hundreds if not thousands of times a day, comments are directed here selling insurance, viagara and porn. Most of them are caught, and occasionally legit comments get caught. Most of the time I catch them and remove them from the spam purgatory, but once in a while, I miss one.
If you or anyone else ever leaves a comment and it doesn’t show up, please email me and let me know.
Once your comment gets through once however, you are usually safe.
Sorry to hear that, Darren. My grandfather had Alzheimer’s at a young age and since we lived in different countries, I didn’t get to hear too many stories from him. My grandmother and I would stay up late all the time though during visits and she’d tell me as much as she could. I think your message is a good one to everyone…you never know when your grandparents might not have the chance to tell you something so act now if you can!! Thanks for the picture, I love it; they are dressed so smartly!
early i had seen a great picture of the entrance to the bridge and i wanted to show it to some one and now it seems to have been removed .the topic is grand and brings back memories of a sw&a driver yelling at me to keep my hands in the bus when we drove over it .thanks
